Wir hatten Mitte Mai eine traumhafte Woche in der CASA OLIVIA. Wir wurden herzlich von einer tollen Gastgeberin empfangen, die uns immer mit guten Tipps und Ratschlägen zur Seite stand. Die großzügige Wohnung befindet sich im ersten Stock eines riesigen Steinhauses und ist absolut geschmackvoll und hochwertig eingerichtet. Große bequeme Betten, moderne Bäder, eine riesige perfekt ausgestattete Küche und ein riesiges Wohn- und Esszimmer mit kamin. Man kann aber auch ganz gemütlich in der Küche sitzen und essen. Wir haben mehrmals ein Feuer in dem gut funktionierenden Kamin gemacht und dafür immer reichlich trockenes Holz auf dem großen Grundstück gefunden. Sonst hätte es aber auch Holzvorräte direkt vor dem Haus gegeben. Das Haus ist in einem top Zustand, war super sauber und wurde während unseres Aufenthalts noch zweimal geputzt. Der Pool ist ebenfalls groß und traumhaft gelegen und ist natürlich noch ein zusätzliches Highlight des Hauses. Obwohl die Vermieterfamilie mit auf dem Grundstück lebt waren wir sowohl im Haus als auch am Pool die ganze Zeit über völlig ungestört. Der nächste kleine Supermarkt ist in Piazze nur 3km entfernt und ein größerer in Fabro in 11km Entfernung. Fazit: Traumhaus, mit tollem Pool und hervorragender Ausstattung in großartiger Umgebung. Das alles noch gepaart mit tollen Gastgebern und vielen tollen Ausflugszielen in der Nahe Umgebung. Und fällt nichts ein, was hier noch besser sein könnte. Wir kommen gerne wieder!
We had a fantastic week in May in the CASA OLIVIA. We were greeted warmly by a great hostess who always gave us good tipps and advice. The spacious apartment is on the first floor of a huge stone house and is absolutely tasteful and high quality furnished. Large comfortable beds, modern bathrooms, a huge perfectly equipped kitchen and a huge living and dining room with fireplace. But you can also sit comfortably in the kitchen and eat. We have several times made a fire in the well functioning fireplace and always found ample dry wood on the large property. Otherwise, however, there would have been wood supplies right in front of the house. The house is in a top condition, was super clean and was cleaned twice during our stay. The pool is also large and fantastically located and is of course still an additional highlight of the house. Although the landlord family lived on the property we were in the house as well as at the pool all the time over completely undisturbed. The nearest small supermarket is in Piazze only 3km away and a larger one in Fabro at 11km distance. Conclusion: dream house, with great pool and excellent facilities in great surroundings.
All this still paired with great hosts and many great excursions in the surrounding area. And there is nothing that could be better. We would love to come back!
Very nice and calm place. Well maintained enviroment around the Villa. Big rooms with very big bathrooms, specialy the suite. Rosado and his father are very friendly and helpful. Perfect stay for 12 people. Nice pool area.
Es handelt sich bei diesem Objekt um ein im 17. Jahrhundert gebautes Haus mit einer langen Geschichte. Es wurde immer wieder saniert und teilweise auch etwas verbaut, weil die Besitzer zwischendurch die alte Bauweise nicht zu schätzen wussten. Die Einrichtung spiegelt den alten Charme wider. Jedes Zimmer hat seinen eigenen Charme. Der Garten ist sehr groß und schön angelegt. Neben einem Pool und Whirlpool gibt es auch eine Tischtennisplatte und einen Grillplatz. Das Anwesen liegt auf einem Hügel mit Blick auf Montepulciano. Die Umgebung des Hauses ist traumhaft für Gruppen, die Entspannung suchen und die Zeit miteinander genießen wollen.
The place was like a dream. The landscape is so beautiful, the accommodations are perfect, complete with an adequate bathroom, a large comfy bedroom with tons of natural light, and a wonderful kitchen/living/dining room. The kitchen includes a small refrigerator, a toaster oven, and cutlery, dishes, etc. our host was charming and friendly without being overbearing. He gave us a bottle of wine on our arrival from a local vineyard. The locale is a beautiful olive farm, and he kindly shared with us a small tin of his handmade olive oil, perhaps our favorite souvenir from our entire trip to Italy. This felt like an extra generous gesture that perhaps can't be expected by every guest but we had a wonderful, long conversation with him about his farm, his life in Italy, Europe, American politics, and Italian lifestyle. He was perfectly happy to chat in English. Just a kind, unassuming, accommodating soul we were thrilled to get to know. He shared with us a very helpful map and recommended a route for us to drive through Tuscany to hit the most beautiful towns and avoid highways in favor of more a picturesque route. Driving this route and coming home to our beautiful villa in Siena was the highlight of the entire trip for me.
A little more about the accomidations: we visited in mid May and the pool wasn't open yet, but he recommended a hot springs close by. Honestly we didn't have time to swim anyway. But the pool is there and I assume he opens it later than mid may. There are delightful kitties about that keep to themselves. Our accommodation itself is a freestanding house, but it's not clear that every accommodation at this property is that way. The location is ideal; very convenient to Siena but truly feels like the countryside and the middle of nowhere. Absolutely the best place we stayed our entire trip; totally worth the cost.
It was an excellent villa. Very clean, excellent views and facilities. The owners were the nicest and most welcoming villa owners we have meet. The location is good only if you have a car, but this is not a big problem.

Das Schloss ist sehr schön gelegen und durch Alter und Einrichtung sehr beeindruckend. Das Restaurant ist sehr empfehlenswert. Wir hatten das Apartment Nr 36 mit 2 Schafzimmern und 2 Bädern. Die Einrichtung war sehr urig und typisch für die Region. Die Ausstattung war allerdings sehr spartanisch. Nur das nötigste Geschirr. Nicht mal ein Wasserkocher oder ein Toaster. Einen Backofen haben wir ganz besonders vermisst. So konnte man nicht mal ein paar Brötchen oder eine Pizza aufbacken. In dem Begrüßungsprospekt das uns überreicht wurde, hieß es "hier werden Sie nur vom Zwitschern der Vögel geweckt". Das war leider überhaupt nicht so. Die Straße direkt neben dem Apartment wird morgens zwischen 05.00 und 08.00 Uhr von den Bewohnern von Montegufoni als Rennstrecke zur Arbeitsstelle genutzt. Aufgrund der nicht vorhandenen Isolation der Fenster und Wände hört sich das an, als wenn alle mitten durch das Haus fahren. Am zweiten Tag reiste einen Gruppe von 112 Leuten an - überwiegend im Alter von 20-30 Jahren. Von da an (bis zum folgenden Sonntag) war der Pool rund um die Uhr belegt und es wurde bis morgens um 04.00 Uhr (am Samstag bis 06.10 Uhr) Party gemacht. Mittelpunkt war ein Ghettoblaster der allerfeinsten Sorte mit Extrasuperbass. Beschwerden (nicht nur von uns) bei der Hotelleitung führten dazu, dass die Musik etwas leise wurde, dafür der Bass aber um so mehr dröhnte. Nachdem diese Gruppe abgezogen ist, kam eine eine größere Gesellschaft, die u.a. auch in das bis dahin leerstehende Apartment neben uns eingezogen sind. Wenn dort jemand sprach oder Geräusche machte, hatten wir den Eindruck, dass die in unserem Zimmer stehen. Wir haben noch nie so schlecht und so wenig im Urlaub geschlafen (die Matratzen sind übrigens auch mieß). Schade, es hätte so schön sein können :-(

The decor was very rustic and typical of the region. The equipment was however very basic. Only the most necessary dishes. Not even a water cooker or a toaster. We missed an oven. So you could not even bake a few rolls or a pizza. In the welcome report presented to us, it was said that "you are only woken by the chirping of birds". Unfortunately this was not the case at all. The road next to the apartment is used as a racetrack by the inhabitants of Montegufoni in the morning between 5 am and 8 am. Due to the lack of isolation of the windows and walls, it sounds like everyone is driving through the house. On the second day, a group of 112 people arrived - mostly at the age of 20-30 years. From then on (until the following Sunday) the pool was occupied around the clock and it was party until 4 am (Saturday to 06.10 clock). Complaints (not only of us) with the hotel management led to the music was only a little bit quiet... After this group left, a larger company came, which among other things moved into also in the until then resettled apartment beside us. When someone spoke or made noise, we had the impression that they were in our room. We have never slept so badly and so little on vacation (the mattresses are also bad). It could have been so nice...
