Beautiful property located near Anghiari, ideal for a holiday in search of enjoyment and relaxation.
The 2 apartments "Poggiodoro" and Tobacco Loft" are found within a large farmhouse and each occupies one-half of the building and has its own private and furnished outdoor space.
The property lies in an ancient hamlet immersed in the Tuscan country-side in a beautiful location just a stone’s throw from the charming town of Anghiari (1.5km) where the famous battle of Anghiari took place in 1440 between the Florentines and the Milanese (painted by Leonardo da Vinci in one of his works).
The hamlet is made up of 7 houses. Each has been restructured in order to maintain the characteristic original appearance and style of the area, and amongst which Poggiodoro and Tobacco Loft share a tempting swimming pool in a panoramic area looking over the Sovara Valley, a garden and a wood burning oven for bread of pizza. These structures are shared among all of the guests of the hamlet.
The farm house was original an ancient tobacco drier and was restructured following environmentally friendly procedures, furnished with care and taste by the owners - architectures and interior designers, who have preserved the original structure while adding a modern comfort, it has been published more than once in architecture write-ups (Ville&Casali, Case&Country, Quin).
The location is ideal to easily reach all the beautiful corners of Tuscany.
Access to the property is via a dirt road which is in good condition and suitable for all vehicles.
Distances: Anghiari with a wide variety of shops – 1.5 km, San Sepolcro - 10 km, Monterchi - 10 km, Città di Castello - 20 km, Arezzo - 30 km, Perugia - 50 km, Cortona - 50 km, Gubbio - 70 km, Siena - 100 km, Florence - 105 km, Rome - 250 km.
Available to guests: outdoor private space for each apartment furnished with a BBQ, dining area beneath a pergola and sunbeds, communal swimming pool (16 x 5 m – minimum depth 0.3 m – maximum depth 1.5 m), outdoor shower within reach of the swimming pool, barbecue and wood burning oven, large garden.
There is a free internet Wi-Fi connection.

Poggiodoro was one of the highlights of our trip through Tuscany. The young owner/architects obviously put a lot of thought in the design and reconstruction of this amazing building and made this a truly great place to stay. Well Done!

Poggiodoro is truly set in the most beautiful location! The views of the Tuscan countryside are stunning.
The house itself has a wonderful rustic feel with wood beams and stone walls as well as having elements of modern design and comfort. This all works perfectly together. The bedrooms are beautifully designed with comfortable beds and great views. The kitchen has all the mod-cons, which is perfect for having days/nights in and cooking up a tasty meal. There is a nice big table in the front room which would be perfect for family meals.
We stayed in Poggiodoro for 5 nights and loved every second. Sitting round the pool with its gorgeous uninterrupted views was totally relaxing and a wonderful experience.
Although we never met the owners, they were very communicative via email and promptly answered all questions. Giovanni met us on the first day and was around during our stay and always happy to help with anything.
The neighbors are all very friendly and helpful and will recommend things to do and see.
