Beskrivelse af Ejendommen
Podere la Marronaia er en lille, venlig stuehus beliggende på en bakke omgivet af vinmarker og olivenlunde, ikke langt fra centrum af San Gimignano (2 km). Kernen i bygningen er det gamle vagttårn bygget i 1200 som en del af den defensive byens mure. I 2000 Silvia og Luigi og hans sønner Peter og Conrad, forelsket i dette sted, købte denne gård at gøre deres hjem og deres aktiviteter.
Podere la Marronaia, i dag er det meste familiedrevet firma, dedikeret til den aktivitet med turistetablissementet lejligheder til leje, og landbrug, med produktion af økologiske vine og ekstra jomfruolivenolie og direkte salg.

Four of us stayed at Podere La Marronaia -- my wife and I, and another couple. The setting in the vineyard and olive grove is spectacular. You can see the town of San Gimingnano on top of the next hill. The apartment has two bedrooms, one downstairs and one loft up a steep circular staircase. There is a large dining / living room with seating for six for eating. There are a lot of pots and pans, dishes, tableware, etc. Wifi is not available in the apartment itself, but it works outside. There is a small TV with all Italian stations. A pool is available for swimming. The owner, Silvia, is very pleasant and was always available for our questions and to provide help. Her English is very good. One afternoon she invited us to taste the wines and olive oil made at her farm.

Onze ervaringen zijn goed. We zijn zeer tevreden van de goede ontvangst van Silvia en Luigi. Dit zijn warme mensen die heel vlot met hun gasten kunnen omgaan.
De rust, de ligging, de verre zichten zijn ongelooflijk !
We hebben genoten van het grote zwembad. De ligstoelen zijn van iets minder kwaliteit zodat ze dan sneller stuk gaan. Ook de parasols rond het zwembad zijn regelmatig stuk door de regelmatige snel opkomende wind. Misschien is een kleine patio (schaduwterras) hier een oplossing zodat parasols niet meer nodig zouden zijn. De houten planken rond het zwembad zouden dringend een onderhoudsbeurt nodig hebben. Dit zijn maar kleine minpuntjes waar snel aan gewerkt kan worden. Voor de rest was de vakantie op Podere Marronaia SUPER alsook hun heerlijke wijnen !

We enjoyed the large pool. The chairs at the pool are of less quality so they quickly brake. The parasols around the pool are regularly broken by the regular burgeoning wind. Perhaps a small patio (shaded terrace) would be a solution so umbrellas would no longer be required. The wooden planks around the pool would urgently require servicing. The accommodation was very spacious and well equipped and clean. The area is very picturesque and relaxing. It was very well located to San Gimignano (but not by public transport, you need a car to stay here). The apartment is in the downstairs area of a working vineyard and farm, there are lots of cats hanging around outside, but they do not bother the guests (just be sure to open the doors quickly, as do they think it is a great game to try and get into the apartments). The owners were very friendly and helpful. Please also note that if you have a MacBook, the wireless internet may not work - it did not work on ours, and we were told this has happened before with Macs.

Hallo, wij hebben in augustus 2011 twee weken in het blauwe huisje gezeten. Het weer was gedurende deze twee weken boven de 30 graden dagelijks. La Marronaia ligt ongeveer 2 km buiten het gezellige San Gimignano, het is daar Toscane op zijn best. Het is heerlijk plattelandsleven tussen de wijn- en olijfgaarden. De huisjes zijn ruim, en doelmatig ingericht. Er zijn maar drie appartementen, dus het is rustig. Er is een groot zwembad voor de nodige verkoeling. Ieder huisje heeft daarnaast buitenmeubilair. De Italiaanse eigenaren Silvia en Luigi wonen boven de appartementen met hun gezin, 2 honden en 13 katten. Ze zijn echt zeer gastvrij, we voelden ons er zeer welkom en thuis.
San Gimignano is niet alleen een leuke stad, maar een prima uitvalsbasis voor dagtochten naar Siena, Florence, Volterra, Lucca/Pisa, Chianti Classico streek en Montepulciano/Montalcino. Voorzieningen San Gimignano verder prima, ook aantal zeer goede restaurants en de wereldkampioen ijs maken, voor grotere supermarkten (SuperCoop, PAM) kun je in het nabije Poggibonsi terecht.
Als aandachtspunten willen wij meegeven dat je a. van buitenleven moet houden (en katten:) b. lopen naar San Gimignano is net te ver, let wel op dat parkeren in het dorpje een uitdaging is en c. als je in augustus gaat pas je programma aan op de warmte.
Wat absoluut een aanrader is zijn de wijnen van La Marronaia, die moet je echt proberen!
Conclusie: een zeer goede vakantie, wij zouden hier zeker nog een keer naar toe gaan.

[English translation courtesy of Easy Reserve] Hello, we have stayed two weeks in August 2011 in the BLUE house. The temperature during these two weeks was over 30°C every day. La Marronaia is located about 2 km outside the charming town San Gimignano, Tuscany where it's at its best. It's lovely rural life among the vineyards and olive groves. The houses are spacious with practical furnishings. There are only three apartments, so it is quiet. There is a large swimming pool for the necessary cooling. Each cottage also has outdoor furniture. Silvia and Luigi, the Italian owners, live above the apartment with their family, two dogs and 13 cats. They are really very hospitable, we felt very welcome and at home.
San Gimignano is not just a nice town, but a good base for day trips to Siena, Florence, Volterra, Lucca / Pisa, Chianti Classico region, Montepulciano / Montalcino. The facilities in San Gimignano also fine, even some very good restaurants and world champion ice cream makers, you can find larger supermarkets (super-scoop, PAM) in nearby Poggibonsi.
As points of attention we would like to say: 1) you need to like the outdoor life (and cats) 2) walk to San Gimignano is just a little too far, please note that parking in the village is challenging and 3) adjust your program according to the the heat if travveling in summer.
What we definitely recommend are the wines of La Marronaia- you should really try!
Conclusion: a very good holiday, we would definitely return.

Mooie podere op een fantastische locatie vlakbij San Gimignano! Ongelooflijk mooi landgoed met een schitterend panorama. Rustige omgeving en gunstige ligging om uitstappen te maken naar Siena, Volterra, Firenze... Zeer gastvrije eigenaars. Proef zeker eens hun lekkere wijn en olijfolie. Bovendien een aanrader voor poezenliefhebbers!

We enjoyed our stay very much. The property was charming and the setting was beautiful. The location was perfect for visits to the village of San Gimignano and also for day trips to other places we wanted to see, including Pisa, Florence and Sienna. I would love to go back!

We rented this unit for ourselves and our nephew and niece who were traveling with us. We were looking for a comfortable space with adequate privacy, as well as convenience to local sites. This place was perfect.
First, the host and hostess, Luigi and Silvia, are delightful. They were friends by the end of our week. The farm is just two minutes from San Gimignano, and located conveniently for easy access to Volterra, Siena, Florence and beyond. The setting is great--vineyards and olive groves, a great patio, a pool (too cool to use while we were there, but lovely).
If you like cats the place is great, because there is a large family of kitties. They never got in the way.
Make sure you visit the wine shop in San Gimignano or Volterra that is run by Podere la Marronaia.

First Europeen trip where equilibrium between activities, confort and quality of food was meet.
